Policies

The people of PenMet deserve a Parks Commissioner that represents their interests. I have worked to improve PenMet as a small business owner. As Commissioner, I will serve the people of PenMet by instituting policies that represent the people.

01

Compensation for Commissioners at PenMet Events

I believe in prioritizing the interests of the community we serve. As such, it is our policy that Commissioners should not receive compensation for attending PenMet events. We firmly believe that Commissioners' primary role is to serve the community, and their commitment should be driven by their dedication to public service rather than monetary compensation.

02

Fair Compensation for All

At PenMet Parks, we believe in promoting fairness and equality within our organization. It is our duty to ensure that the staff members who exhibit patience and dedication in their roles receive the same percentage increase to their paychecks as the top executive at PenMet Parks each year. I will fight to recognize the valuable contributions of our entire staff and maintain equitable compensation practices across the organization.

03

Child Safety Policy

At PenMet Parks, the safety and well-being of children participating in our programs and activities must be of utmost importance. I will demand children's safety, including training leads (individuals in charge of children) in first aid, implementing incident reporting procedures, and setting age restrictions for supervision responsibilities.

04

Park Hosts

I will initiate the reinstatement of Park Host Programs in designated park areas. Park hosts will be responsible for residing on-site within the park grounds, providing a visible presence and serving as a resource for visitors.

05

Retain Levy Cap

Implementing a levy lid lift would place an additional financial burden on residents and
businesses. This is especially true when you consider the recently approved levy lid lifts
for the Peninsula School District and the Pierce County Fire Protection District No. 5. In
an already challenging economic climate, it is crucial to prioritize responsible fiscal
management and avoid further straining the finances of our community members.
